The Clark Fork-Pend Oreille river system is vital to the quality of life in a watershed that spans three states. Citizens, business, industry, government and environmental groups are united in the Tri-State Water Quality Council to improve water quality in this watershed. We accomplish our mission through mutual respect, collaboration, science and education.

The heart of the Tri-State Water Quality Council’s vision is to have clean, clear waters throughout the Clark Fork-Pend Oreille river system. These waters foster community through a region-wide shared value of harmony with the watershed’s ecosystem. The Council’s ability to cooperatively and effectively address water quality issues is hallmarked by consensus decision-making, good science and mutual respect. Our strong commitment to leadership development among staff and Council members enables the organization to accomplish water quality goals across jurisdictions.
